We took a drive to Lassen Volcanic Park today, which is part of the Pacific Ring of Fire. Lassens ancestral stratovolcano Mount Tehama was envisioned to be some 11 miles wide at its base before collapsing. It's a shame its caldera was breached and no lake formed, but thats bloody Plate Tectonics for you.
We got very excited because there was snow there (check the pics below), they also had some cool hot springs(!), which were releasing a strong smell of sulphur into the air (or maybe that was from last nights curry).
